raqSolid Bellydance Company

The ladies of raqSolid met in 2002 and have been studying bellydance together ever since.  In 2007 we decided to strike out on our own.  The name, raqSolid,  refers to the strong and lasting friendship we have formed with each other through dance. 

Unlike many dance troupes, we have no designated "director",  which gives each of us the opportunity to exercise creative freedom.   Our group choreographies are often collaborative efforts that incorporate the varied tastes and ideas of each member.  When we occasionally require the services of a "fearless leader", someone is always there to step up to the plate!

We are also fortunate to have talented dancers who independently create solos, both choreographed and improv, in their individual styles.   As friends, we  appreciate each other's strengths, differences, and opinions, allowing us to disagree with no fear of drama or hard feelings.  We believe this is key to the success of our troupe.
